Ignore this dial
• Read the dials from left to right
• If the pointer is between the two numbers, always take the
lower number
• If the pointer is directly over a number, write down that one
• If the pointer falls between 9 and 0, write down 9 and reduce
the reading you’ve already taken for the dial on its left by one.
For example, if you originally recorded 5, reduce it to 4
• Don’t read the last dial on the right
Top Tip
It’s worth considering a smart meter as your energy supplier will
be able to automatically read your meter themselves without you
having to provide readings, and you can keep an eye on what
you’re using too. Contact your supplier for more information.
