Sheds and greenhouses
If you want to put up a shed or greenhouse, it’s usually fine – but
we do ask that you check with us before you start building.
Fencing
In most of our properties, the left-hand fence from the back door
and fence at the bottom of the garden are your responsibility.
However, if the bottom fence backs onto a garage site, allotments,
gully etc, it will probably be our responsibility to maintain it. If you
are unsure, please contact us to check. Fencing needs to be under
2m in height.
Shared gardens
If you share a garden, we want you and your neighbours to be able
to enjoy it. We ask that you clean up after any pets, be mindful
of your neighbours, and avoid leaving anything that could be
dangerous.
TV Licence
You have the option to transfer your TV licence to your new address
or purchase a new one. You can do this by calling 0300 790 6071
or visiting www.tvlicensing.co.uk. Customers in our Independent
Living Schemes are also required to have a current TV licence.
If you’re over 75 and receive pension credit, you may be eligible for
a free ‘over 75 TV Licence’. You can apply for this by visiting the TV
licensing website or calling 0300 790 6154.
Not having a TV licence can mean
fines of around £1,000.
