Insurance
While bdht has insurance for the structure and fittings of your
building, we don’t cover your personal belongings. You’ll need
separate contents insurance to protect your belongings, and we
recommend making sure it covers various events, including fires,
floods, and theft.
Garages and parking
We have a limited number of garages for rent, which anyone can
apply or go on a waiting list for. Contact us if you would like to find
out more.
Parking guidelines:
• Parking spaces on bdht land are not individually assigned unless
specified when you move into your home, and we don’t actively
monitor parking.
• All vehicles on bdht property must be taxed and insured. Illegally
parked cars will be given a 14-day notice before removal. We
don’t take action on unroadworthy vehicles in our parking bays you can contact the DVLA in this instance.
• Parking on driveways is only allowed if there is a dropped kerb
and a hard-standing driveway. You will need to ask for permission
from us and the County Council if you want to create a driveway
– there is a cost for dropped curbs.
• Please don’t drive over or park on any grassed areas or park on a
garage forecourt.
• Major car repairs should not be
frequently conducted on your
property (we see frequent as
more than twice a week over
four weeks or more). If you do
carry out repairs to your car,
please ensure that it is only
during daytime hours to avoid
disturbing others.
