Repairs & maintenance
How to report repairs
If it’s not an emergency, please contact us using
mybdht our customer portal. You can also call
us on 0800 0850 160 or 01527 557557.
We have a separate, more detailed, booklet about
repairs and maintenance, which you’ll be given a
copy of. Include hyperlink on digital version.
Emergency repairs
For emergency repairs, like a loss of electricity or heating, we will
respond within 24 hours. Our Emergency phone number is 0800
0850160. For gas leaks, contact National Grid.
Pest control
If you have a pest problem, please report it to us. We handle issues
with rats and mice inside your home or communal areas. For other
infestations, we recommend contacting a pest control company
directly.
Maintaining your home
We aim to keep homes in good condition through planned
maintenance work, which includes things like replacing windows
or kitchens. We prioritise work based on safety, security,
weatherproofing, and modernisation needed and carry out 5-year
stock condition surveys to check requirements for upgrades and
work needed. If your home is due any work, we will contact you
in advance to discuss this. For minor refurbishments, you won’t
need to move out. However, for major works like rewiring or dampproofing, very rarely we may ask you to relocate temporarily. We will
of course provide alternative accommodation if necessary.
